It was the Fall of 2011. I was driving back from the Vaneer Hills in my newly purchased 1984 Cadillac Coupe De Ville. Baby blue with a white racing stripe. Loved it. With the windows rolled down and the sun hitting my face in my Wayfarer Ray-Bans, I turned on the radio. This beat started up and the MC started rhyming. Feeling the flow and nodding my head, I caught on to the fact the song was an Ottawa love-in. Amazeballs. Capcity.
Pete Joynt has been rapping for the past 12 years. Rocking venues all over. His music is smart and largely conscious. Pete has a noticeable stutter when he speaks but it disappears when he’s rocking a mic. This has led him to doing speaking engagements at local schools about rapping, stuttering and bullying . With a hat tip to the City of Ottawa and of course his love for the Sens, he was a natural for us to try and bring on board.
